IT Support Specialist

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Your Role

  • Understanding and identifying the root cause of the customer's problem through insightful questions.

  • Reviewing all logs for open issues and preparing formal reports to customers as necessary.

  • Required to be part of an on call phone/email support process to handle system issues during the officially designated support hours.

  • Foster positive customer relations and a high degree of customer satisfaction by communicating effectively with customers.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of support incidents, tracking them and using all available resources and knowledge to resolve them accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Working with other product support team members to improve documentation and various business processes.

  • Participating in program surveys, pilot program service activities, attending meetings, champion special projects and prepare exclusive reports.

  • Comply with and ensuring department compliance with company health, safety and environmental policies.

  • Provide professional end-user support via telephone, email, chat or web submits.

Key Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science or any other related field from a recognized institution.

  • At least 1 year of professional IT systems support experience in a busy environment.

  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of working with web-based applications with multiple integrations and reporting tools.

  • Excellent in oral and written English.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365.

Added Advantage

  • Knowledge of German language.

  • Experience with customer care and excellent communication skills with a strong orientation for customer focus and teamwork.

  • Experience working with JIRA IT support and ticketing system.

IT Support Trainee

Your Role

  • Experience working with JIRA IT support and ticketing system.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for IT support activities (categorizing, prioritizing, and solving tickets).

  • Supporting senior and junior support staff on ground-breaking projects and cutting-edge development activities.

  • Working closely with customers to scope incoming project requests.

  • Responsible for customer contact and project ownership around your development works.

  • Availability to supplement when on call support staff are either unavailable, too busy or reassigned.

Key Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science or any other related field from a recognized institution.

  • Excellent in oral and written English.

  • Efficient browser using knowledge, specifically Chrome, Edge etc.

  • Have a practical understanding and passion for technology.
